Choosing the right machine mount

Here is an easy method for calculating the load that your machine mounts need to withstand. Assume your machine is a lathe weighing 2,700 kg. The lathe has four mounting points, and each mounting point needs to be installed on a machine mount.
Your calculation should look like this:

1. Machine weight (W) = 2,700 kg
2. Number of mounting points/machine mounts (N) = 4
3. Load capacity (L) = W÷N = 2,700 ÷ 4
4. L = 675 kg per machine mount

In other words, your machine mounts must withstand a load of at least 675 kg. Compare the designs and road loads of Sunnex's different machine mounts with the load capacity of the machine mount that corresponds to your requirements for vibration damping and/or levelling.
Please note that the above calculation example does not include extra weight, e.g. from machine movements.
